Job Posting: Two AmeriCorps Fellowships for Fall '09 in DC

The Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) Legal Services Department seeks applicants for two Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellowships focusing on immigration and community legal services beginning in September 2009. Each fellowship can be extended to one additional year.
Project Overview: The Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow will work under the supervision of the Legal Services Director to provide direct Legal Services in the area of Immigration, Housing, and Consumer Law, Community Outreach, and Education though direct representation; public speaking and community engagement; and pro bono attorney recruitment and coordination.
Compensation – Total compensation of $48,325 which includes:

Living allowance of $22,800 ($1,900 per month)

Reimbursement of monthly expenses- $20,800 ($1,733 per month)

A $4725 Segal Education Award voucher to apply toward payment of federally backed educational loans and other expenses.
