The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children

Please click the "Read more" button below for the whole message. --- The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, through its Koons Family Institute on International Law & Policy, is seeking 1-2 legal interns/volunteers to provide short-term support in the completion of the 7th edition of the Child Pornography: Model Legislation and Global Review. In particular, assistance is needed in researching the existing child pornography laws in a dozen countries, sending verification letters to local Embassies, reviewing and updating footnotes, and drafting and reviewing several new sections of the report on online grooming, data retention laws, and implementation. Ideally a student would work a minimum of 15 hours/week. The research work can be done remotely, but the other components would need to be done onsite. Simply as a point of reference, the report is expected to be fully completed for publication by late February. The organization has a lot of Amicus Briefs and other official legal letters to judicial authorities in Latin America that need to be translated from Spanish to English for their website. There are more than ten documents, and each document should not take more than 30 mins to translate each depending on the student’s level of Spanish. Shared Hope International

Please click the "Read more" button below for the whole message. --- Shared Hope International just released the 2012 Protected Innocence Challenge report which grades all 50 states and the District of Columbia on how well their existing legislative frameworks combat domestic minor sex trafficking and protect victims. The organization needs help to create additional tools that advocates can use in the upcoming 2013 state legislative sessions to advocate for improvements in their states’ laws. This would involve reviewing and compiling specific results of their policy work into charts and other formats that allow for easy reference.

whole message. --- The American Society of International Law needs help on some short-term projects consisting of bluebooking assignments for two publications (International Legal Materials and ASIL Insights), research of current developments in international law (with particular focus on main international tribunals/institutions), correspondence with authors/editors, tracking of status charts, proof reading, and short writing assignments. The supervisor will be out of the country until January 4, but may be able to supervise and train virtually before then. These projects could be completed during the spring semester.
