Business Law Brief

Article Submissions

Submission Guidelines:

The Business Law Brief seeks articles that address practical legal issues in the world of business. The Brief's editorial board selects for publication articles that provide valuable insight into matters of broad intellectual and practical concern to the legal and business communities. Submissions for consideration are encouraged from the academic legal community, practitioners, as well as from AU/WCL alumni and students.

Articles or portions of articles already published may not be eligible. Please indicate all publications in which your proposed article appears or is forthcoming. Additionally, preemption checks are the responsibility of the author. Please contact the Brief with any questions regarding the eligibility of your article.

  1. Articles should be typed, double-spaced, with 1" margins

  2. Articles should be submitted as an attachment via e-mail in Microsoft Word 7.0 or later.

  3. All pages should be numbered at the bottom-center, beginning with the title page, and the author's name should appear on the upper-right corner of each page.

  4. All submissions should include: (1) a title page with the descriptive title of the article, the names of all authors, the full address and phone number for the corresponding author; (2) a separate page with a brief (no more than a few sentences) biographical sketch of all authors, including relevant publications and other affiliations not mentioned on the title page; (3) the full body of the article, including any footnotes; and (4) all figures and/or tables used.

  5. Please provide authority (and/or citation) for all legal authority. It may be helpful to provide the editors with a copy of sources that are particularly difficult to locate.

  6. In preparing footnotes, authors should consult and follow the style presented in A Uniform System of Citation (17th Ed.) (the Bluebook). For questions of literary style, authors should consult The Chicago Manual of Style (15th Ed).
