Dr. CLAUDIA FRUTOS-PETERSON is Counsel to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, D.C. Before joining ICSID, Ms. Frutos-Peterson specialized in international commercial arbitration at the law firm of Arnold & Porter. Ms. Frutos-Peterson received her first law degree from the University of Nuevo Leon, in Monterrey, Mexico. Subsequently she received a Master’s Degree in International Economic Law and a Doctorate in International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America, with highest honors, from the University of Paris-I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and an LL.M. in International Studies from Georgetown University. In addition to her work at ICSID, Ms. Frutos-Peterson teaches international commercial arbitration at The American University Washington College of Law and participates periodically in various conferences on international arbitration. Her publications include a March 2003 book on international commercial arbitration in Latin America.
