US Practitioners and Foreign Attorneys

Registration Fees


All courses can be taken for professional development. Upon completion of the program, a Certificate of
Attendance will be presented to the participants.

To apply, candidates must hold a law degree either from a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association or from a foreign law school with equivalent standards; Candidates with direct experience in International Arbitration that do not hold a law degree are eligible to apply. Please send a CV and statement of interest to arbitration@wcl.amercian.edu

US Practitioners can request CLE Credit. WCL is an accredited provider for Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York and
will seek accreditation for all other states as requested.

Practitioners Applying for Academic Credit

Registration Fees

Applications must be submitted to the Registrar’s office. Students who wish to accelerate graduation by
enrolling for summer courses must consult and have permission from their home institutions. A letter
of good standing and permission to enroll at the Washington College of Law must accompany your application.

Visiting students can apply to use these credits toward an LLM degree from the Washington College of Law.

No special application is required. Please enroll through your my.american.edu account.


Program Changes & Withdrawals

Applicants who have registered or paid a deposit will be informed promptly of any changes in the Summer Session's course offerings and, in the
unlikely event of a course cancellation, will receive a full refund for the course (excluding the application fee of $65, which is non-refundable).

Applicants who have registered or paid a deposit should notify us immediately in case of withdrawal. Students who have registered to receive academic credit must also contact the Office of the Registrar for information about withdrawal forms and deadlines. For Certificate of Attendance:

Refund is only available if you withdraw before the start of classes. Cancellations after that time will not be refunded, however, seminar materials will be sent and access to podcast will be provided. Substitutions will be considered. Cancellation Policy


Written cancellation received three business days prior to the course will be fully refunded (arbitration@wcl.american.edu). Cancellations after that time will not be refunded, however, course materials will be sent and access to webcasts will be provided. Substitutions will be considered.
