Alumni Spotlight

KAREN M. LOCKWOOD '78
Karen M. Lockwood, 1978, has been a Myers Society member since 1998 and has been an exceptional volunteer for the law school. This spring, Karen was honored with the 2004 Women to Watch award by the WCL Women's Law Association and has been announced as the WCL Annual Giving Chair.
Recently elected President-Elect of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia, Karen has practiced commercial trial law and arbitration in DC for over 25 years. Now a partner at Howrey Simon Arnold & White, LLP, she was previously a partner at Collier, Shannon, Rill & Scott, PLLC for 10 years, served as a founding partner in the boutique firm of Wickens, Koches & Cale, and practiced at Hogan & Hartson and Surrey & Morse. She has been a lecturer at the Washington College of Law, and now co-leads the NITA Intensive Trial Skills Program at Georgetown every June.
"The Annual Giving program creates a great opportunity for all of us to serve WCL in tangible ways," said Karen. "The law school has set itself on a path of global leadership, creative thinking, and outreach that distinguishes every student and every alumni privileged to be a part of it. We owe it much, and we can contribute much, if we as alumni do it together. I look forward to working with folks from every class."
