Kimberly LeBlanc, Khadine Bennett - The Peter Stapleton Ridley, Jr. Endowed Memorial Scholarship A native of Washington, D.C., and a graduate of the class of 1970; Peter S. Ridley, Jr. was a celebrated Vietnam War veteran. While a student at WCL, he was selected to be the recipient of the John Sherman Myers Achievement Award for his outstanding community service. In 1980, Peter died of a heart attack at the age of 40. Family and friends established this fund in his honor at that time. This award is to benefit a student who possesses distinct leadership qualities, with preference given to a first-or second year African American law student.
