  • What Is InCircle?

    InCircle is the exclusive WCL alumni online community. It includes discussion groups, an online alumni directory, the opportunity to update your own contact information and choose which fields of information will be public (shown) to other WCL alumni.

    InCircle Alumni Online Community lets you:

    • Find your classmates, near and far;
    • Organize or join an alumni group with those who share your interests or area of practice;
    • Keep friends current with photo albums, journals, and even a link to your personal blog;
    • Volunteer
    • Mentor
    • Catch all the events and programs
    • Much, Much More!
  • Is the Directory secure? Who has access?
    All of the information and services on the Alumni Online Community are password protected and available only to registered users. Each alumnus or alumna also has the option of suppressing any information that he/she does not wish to appear on the system. That is, users may turn off particular information fields in their listings to prevent them from being viewed by other users.

  • How Do I Register?
    You go directly to affinity circles at www.wcl.affinitycircles.com. Once you get to the registration page, simply put in your first and last name (as listed when you were a student), and your AU student ID number. Can't remember your ID number? Email alumni@wcl.american.edu and include your name (when a student), your degree and grad year. Once you are a member, you can access the group from Facebook!

  • How Do I Update My Address?
    To update your address, simply log on to the Alumni Online Community at www.wcl.affinitycircles.com and follow the link to your home page.

  • What If I Don't Want My Information Listed?
    No problem. Simply complete the registration process and proceed to the Alumni Online Community, and follow the instructions for modifying your directory listing preferences. This page will allow you to specify what items you would like to have displayed. The preferences are granular, so you can be as specific as you wish in deciding how much and what kind of information is viewable to other alumni.

  • Can I Change My Name As It Appears In The Alumni Online Community?
    To change your name as it appears in the alumni directory, email the office of alumni relations at alumni@wcl.american.edu with your name when you graduated, your WCL degree and year, the new name, and the reason for the change (spelling error, marriage, legal name change, or other reason). We will contact you to verify the request, and make that change for you.

  • How Can The Directory Be Used?
    The Alumni Online Community is intended for use by alumni for the purposes of improving communications among alumni and between alumni and WCL. As such, it is for official university use, alumni association use and individual alumni use for communication of a personal nature between members. Use of this directory for any other purpose (including, but not limited to, reproducing and storing in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical's creating mailing lists or otherwise using the addresses or other information contained in this directory for any commercial or other information contained in this directory for any commercial or political mailing) is a violation of copyright and prohibited.

  • How Much Do These Services Cost?
    There is no charge to alumni for use of the Alumni Online Community

  • Can I Control Whether I Receive Unsolicited Mail Or Email As A Result Of My Listing?
    First, it is important to understand that only registered users will have access to the Alumni Online Community (and only alumni from Washington College of Law), and the directory is not to be used for unsolicited mailings. The most important privacy control, however, is in your hands - you may adjust your individual record to suppress any contact information that you do not wish others to see or to use.
