Robert Pence
Mr. Pence attended the evening program and received his JD from the Washington College of Law in 1971. He also received a Masters degree from the American University College of Arts & Science in 1997.
He is presently the president of Pence-Friedel Developers, Inc., a real estate developing firm specializing in shopping centers. Mr. Pence has been developing, leasing, and selling retail properties in Maryland, Virginia, California, and Texas since 1976.
Mr. Pence has contributed to the AU and WCL communities as a member of the Board of Trustees, the President's Circle, the American Club, and the Dean's Advisory Council at WCL. He is a long term Myers Society member and generous donor to the WCL Scholarship Fund, WCL Capital Campaign, Sara Presciutti Scholarship Fund, Sandra P. Grosso Scholarship Fund, Elliott Milstein Endowed Scholarship Fund, Robert J. Woldow Memorial, SBA Golf Tournament, and the Dean's Discretionary Fund. In 1999 he started the Class Gift Challenge, a matching gift helping to provide additional funding for the Public Interest Loan Repayment Assistance Program. Mr. Pence has made generous pledges to the library, which is now named for him, and the Robert and Susan Pence Endowed Fund. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Italian Literature at Yale University
