Mr. Goldstein is a 1995 graduate of the Washington College of Law. As a student he participated in the Law Review.
He is founding partner of Goldstein & Russell P.C., an appellate firm specializing in Supreme Court litigation; teaches Supreme Court Litigation at Stanford and Harvard Law Schools; and is the publisher of SCOTUSblog, which in 2010 became the only weblog ever to receive the ABA's Silver Gavel Award for fostering the American public's understanding of law and the legal system. Tom has argued 24 cases before the Supreme Court. Among various recognitions, he has been named one of the nation's 100 most influential lawyers (National Law Journal); the 90 greatest Washington lawyers of the past 30 years (Legal Times); and the 50 most influential people in Washington, DC (GQ).
While Mr. Goldstein teaches at both Stanford and Harvard Law Schools, he continues to be active with Washington College of Law. He served on the 1995 Reunion Committee, is a frequent guest speaker on campus, and at least once a year does a moot court with Professor Stephen Wermeil.
